UFO Sighting Downtown Los Angeles 6/23/2012

This video was captured during a shoot of an EPK for the rap group "Kingz of Tomaro" on a rooftop on skid row in Downtown, Los Angeles. Towards the end of the shoot, one of the rap groups members, Zone, pointed out cosmos in the sky. Everyone present thought he was joking, because they weren't unable to notice the objects in the bright blue sky. Once I was able to focus my eyes on the bright blue sky, I began to notice the objects in the video. I did not want to move my eyes away from the objects because it was easy to lose sight of the objects. I must point out that I was unable to find the objects on my LCD or my viewfinder. In order to capture the objects in the moment, I had to put my camera next to my face, point towards the objects, and continue to focus the lens. I captured the video with the Canon Rebel T3i and the 18-135MM lens. I accomplished it and the video above was the result.

Quinceañera Slideshow

This is the video sideshow opening sequence of a movie for a quinceañera video I shot and edited. I created the slideshow in Apple Motion. These type of slideshows can be projected during the reception on the day of the event. Choice of music by the client can be applied to it as well. Lambda Ball is an annual California statewide soccer tournament hosted by Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. Gamma Delta Chapter at the University of California, Santa Barbara. As a co-founder of the Gamma Delta Chapter at UCSB, I also helped co-found the Lambda Ball soccer tournament event. It has been active, annually, for seven years. I directed and edited these videos. Padri Restaurant and Martini Bar Multimedia Presentation

This is a multimedia video I shot and created for the Padri Restaurant and Martini Bar in Agoura Hills, California. I had fun shooting during the nightclub, it had a very live atmosphere which made my job easier. I integrated photography, animation and logo graphics to the multimedia presentation. This video will be used at Padri to promote the venue, drink packages, and for the guests’ pleasure. I created this timelapse test of the winter sky and tree branches in my backyard in Compton, California. Also notice the sparrows flying in towards the end of the video. Filmed with the Canon Rebel T3i and Tamron 10-24mm lens. 1700% speed edit in Final Cut Pro. Compressed in Apple Compressor for YouTube upload. Isla Vista "IV" Beach

I sat my Canon Rebel T3i on my tripod to capture the beautiful beach in Isla Vista “IV” California in the Santa Barbara County. I shot this video with the Canon Rebel T3i and 18-135mm lens. I am a fellow Gaucho, I attended the University of California, Santa Barbara and was a resident of Isla Vista. Watching this video brings back great memories of attending a beautiful college and living in a great college community. I have created this video to share with current Gauchos and Gaucho graduates, so that they may also enjoy and share this video with the world. Enjoy!

UCSB Surfers

I captured UCSB surfers surfing the coast along Isla Vista, California in the Santa Barbara County. Everyday is a beautiful day in Santa Barbara County and Socal. As a UCSB Gaucho and a former Isla Vista resident, I didn't get the chance to learn how to surf the waves, but did enjoy my time at the beach. I've always wanted to film this beach and keep it as memory of my times at UCSB. I shot this video with the Canon Rebel T3i and the 18-135 mm lens, and edited the video with Apple Final Cut Pro and compressed it for the web in Apple Compressor. Enjoy!

I shot and edited this video of a squirrel in front of my apartment complex. I shot this video with a Canon Rebel T3i with the 18-135mm lens and edited it in Apple Final Cut Pro with the implementation of the CGM DVE FX Binoculars Pro filter. Enjoy!

YoYo Tricks and Tips

This is a video I shot and edited in Santa Barbara, California of Riko the YoYoist. Riko provides tips of what one needs to become a professional yoyoist. He also gives the camera a brief showcase of his talent and skills with the yoyo. I filmed this video with the Canon Rebel T3i and the 18-135mm lens. New Year’s Eve Party at Wildcat Lounge Santa Barbara

I shot and edited this promotional video for the official New Year’s Eve Party at Wildcat Lounge Santa Barbara. While the video was created to promote the New Year’s Eve event, it was also created to promote champagne and vodka brands such as Dom Perignon, Veuve Clicquot, and Belvedere packages and specials at Wildcat Lounge. Wildcat Lounge is known to reach capacity early on events such as this and regular nights, so plan accordingly. Shout out to Chris Dixon for producing this video. Enjoy!

College Night "AKA Thursdays" at Eos Lounge hosted by Sabatage

This video was created to promote college nights on Thursdays at Eos Lounge Santa Barbara for students at UC Santa Barbara and SBCC. I filmed and edited this promo for the club promoter and rapper Sabatage. Once AKA was promoted through media such as this video, Eos Lounge’s attendance on Thursdays boosted with reaching capacity as early as 10:30 pm. Had lots of fun shooting this promo at Eos. Enjoy!

The "Veuve Clicquot" DJ Series Product and Event Promo is a web commercial. I was given the opportunity to direct, film, and edit a web commercial for a Moet Hennessey representive to promote the Veuve Clicquot champagne brand in the Santa Barbara area. I enjoyed this project due to the fact that I was given complete creative control for the aesthetics of the video. The video was not only created for the intent to promote Moet Hennessey and Veuve Clicquot, but to also promote local deejays, local models, local photographers, local nightclubs and myself as a video production artist. Shout out to Christopher Dixon, Saba, Danielly Andrade, and Scott Rousch for keeping in touch with me well after the production of this video. Enjoy!

Samy's Camera Santa Barbara | Volkswagen Santa Barbara Video Competition - 2nd Place Black Pearl in tha Hood

“Black Pearl in tha Hood” placed 2nd for the Santa Barbara Volkswagen / Santa Barbara Samy’s Camera Video Competition submission. I produced, directed, filmed and edited this video. Elser Arroyo is the owner of the classic VW bug in this video. Ironically, several months after this competition ended, a Volkswagen commercial aired on national TV with the similar concept of using a classic black Volkswagen buggy, which is cool. Artist/Book Project Promo: "Mixed" by Kip Fulbeck

This post is dedicated to a great friend, professor, and mentor Kip Fulbeck. He gave me the opportunity to partially shoot and edit Mixed: Portraits of Multiracial Kids. Kip Fulbeck is an aspiring Artist, Performer, Spoken Word Artist, and Filmmaker. He is also a University Professor at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where I received the honor of having him as a Teacher and mentor. I’ve gotten the opportunity to work with Kip Fulbeck on his own art projects from “Permanence” to “Mixed.” Kip Fulbeck has connected me with clients such as the Seymour Duncan Company, where I have gotten the opportunity to film and edit product and artist promos for the company. I consider Kip Fulbeck a great friend of mine.

The video in this post is a promotional video for his latest project titled “Mixed: Portraits of Multiracial Kids.” I got the opportunity to film part of the project and edit the entire piece.

Vida Tinta Performs at Velvet Jones in Santa Barbara, California

I had the opportunity to organize an event which featured great friends of mine and the band called "Vida Tinta," based out of Compton, Ca. I grew up with the singer Eduardo "Ettien" Plata, and I must say that I am very proud of him. This post is dedicated to him and his band Vida Tinta, as well as their great performance at "Velvet Jones" in Santa Barbara, California. My partner, Ali Lassoued, and I had the opportunity to shoot their performances, and I did the editing.  I will be sharing excerpts from that night.
